Dear Reader,
One of the most incredible things about working closely with a small group of people in the way that I do is that I really get to know them. I mean really get to know them – what lifts them up, what brings them joy, what drops them to their knees…the things that tick them off and the things that light them up. And it’s within this deeper place of Knowing that some really cool (dare I say transformative?) work can unfold.
But the other incredible thing about working closely with a small group of people that you really know, is that you also begin to witness the threads and ties that bind us as People, and you come to see that what one of us is experiencing at a given time is often being experienced by another (or two or three or a dozen others!)
And lately what I am noticing is this: People’s Stuff is Really Coming Up.
Big time.
And maybe yours is, too…
And when I say “Stuff,” I mean the Deep Stuff – wounds from families of origin, hurts from previous relationships, patterns from a time beyond this one (if you believe in that sort of thing.) I’ve witnessed long-forgotten memories come flooding to the fore, supported clients as they’ve sorted through what is True and what is Not, and sat quietly and held space as some have wept.
Friends, it would appear to me that we are indeed in some kind of Transformative Time. And while I have not been following the astrology of late, I cannot help but wonder just what is afoot up there in the hallowed skies.
And I share this with you in case you, too, have Stuff coming up.
I think it’s particularly hard to be facing your Stuff, wondering if you are The Only One doing so. (It’s yet another form of our Stuff to believe we are Alone…so it’s really no wonder that this can be a bit triggering for some…)
And I share this so that you can also step back with me, away from our own Stuff, just for a moment, and ponder alongside me about this Collective Stuff Coming Up…and what in the world it means.
Sometimes I like to imagine that we are in a Collective Stuff Cleaning Business. It’s like a co-op or something wherein we are all doing The Work together, moving towards the common goal of Cleaning Up Stuff to make way for new beauty. (I quite like this idea!)
And sometimes I like to imagine that we are all experiencing a Collective Calling of sorts in which we are all being Called to a New Adventure that will take us somewhere we cannot quite see or know yet, but that we cannot heed this Call until we clear up some Stuff. (Oh, how I do so love to heed a good Call!)
And sometimes I like to picture us all in giant cocoons, shedding our caterpillar bodies and transforming into something so much Lighter, so much more Free – something that can FLY, for Pete’s sake – and I feel the truth of that in my bones.
Friends, we are indeed in a powerful time of Transformation…whatever that may be, whatever that even means. Heck, I am not sure I know myself what it means but yet I am witnessing it among my clients and colleagues and in my own Self in ways I have not seen in many, many moons.
And so, in case this is your experience, too, allow me to remind you of this: You are not alone. We are here, too, beside you, gooey like the caterpillar, sweeping up Stuff left and right, tidying up and letting go and blessing and releasing like crazy, so that we may be ready, we may be prepared, we may be right where we need to be to heed that Call and cross that next Threshold…whatever it is, wherever it takes us, we are here for it.
