Dear Reader,

Maybe it’s because I turn 49 this year. Perhaps it’s because I’m celebrating 20 years since launching my first business come June. Or maybe there’s just Something In The Air. Whatever it is, it’s quite plain to me that this year is Different.

Conversations with my clients are changing – always an indication that Something is, indeed, In The Air. A client who set out to build an empire some years back has decided that’s not actually what she wants at all. We’ve since found a buyer for her business and she’s settling in to write the book that’s been talking to her for years. Another client has firmly entered her Legacy Years – when she’s pondering all that she’s learned and cultivated throughout her life, and taking measured action to share it in a unique and wonderful way. And yet another client has decided to place the ultimate value on her health, and has hired a team to serve the clients that come through the doors so that she can rest and recuperate but The Work can continue.

Another client is eager to train her professional colleagues in How To Be (and Do) Better in their field. Another is ready to launch her business into the world – officially! Another has become a digital nomad and she joined me on our most recent coaching call from the sunny climes of South America.

When I consider all of these marvelous Folk and all that is transpiring in their Work and their Lives, it feels like some sort of Reckoning is taking place. Instead of fighting with the fact that she wants to be present at her children’s events and recitals, one client has embraced it and shortened her work day and simply stepped into the understanding that this is what is most important to her, right here, right now. And another client said “enough is enough” and cut out thousands of dollars in business expenses to finally pay herself what she feels she would like to be paid.

It’s a Time of Endings and Beginnings and Re-Thinkings and Re-Doings. (I say this as my own kitchen is all ripped up and being rebuilt…slowly but surely!) It is a Time of Reckoning, of being brutally honest with one’s self about what one wants and needs and truly desires. And it’s happening all around us.

It is no wonder, then, is it, that everyone seems a bit tired. This Time we are in asks a lot of us. It asks us to be Honest. To speak Truth. To hold fast and steady to our Values and our Beliefs. It asks us to state clearly our Desires and our Knowings. To stand firm in Who We (Really) Are – not always the same as the Person We (or Others) Thought We Were.

And as a result, we are Doing Things Differently. We’ve made significant changes in our Work. We’ve taken up gardening. We’ve gutted our kitchens and our offices and our attics. We’ve gotten puppies and put in swimming pools. We’ve stopped drinking alcohol and decided we feel better when we do eat meat. We’ve learned to shoot guns and how to make kombucha. We’ve fallen out with old friends and met new ones at the beach. We’ve nursed family members and tended our children. Made new recipes and taken up painting. We’ve done it all and done nothing all at once. And it’s been strange. And wonderful. And tiring. And exhilarating. But most of all it’s been…right.

Something about All This has felt right. In our bodies. In our psyches. In our spirits.

In our Bones.

And this feeling, this feeling of rightness In Our Bones fascinates me to no end, as I am sure you’re not surprised to learn, for it is The Feeling that I’m most driven by myself.

This is my forty-ninth year in this particular body on this particular planet and believe me when I say it: I feel the Rightness in my Bones of being Here. Of sharing this Journey with each of you. Of being of Service to this incredible Community. Twenty years of running a business has brought me to this Place, and the Rightness of it is a Gift I hold dear.

And so, Dear Reader, if you’re feeling tired or facing a Reckoning of your own…if you’re contemplating big changes or wondering just why you’re compelled to grow sprouts in your windowsill…if you’re pondering your Legacy or whether to invest in a new office chair…take heed. You’re not alone. In this strange and wonderful and tiring and exhilarating time, you’re in good company. And we’re oh-so-glad you’re Here.

Big love,
